Thread: Scale type?

I know this must have been gone over a thousand times, but how do you determine what the scales are made of? Is there some sort of scientific test that you do or what? Thanks.

Post a pic and someone will probably tell you right off what it's made of.

I didn't have a specific razor, I was just curious. I thought that I read something about a scratch test or something similar.
