    Default Antique shop buy

I picked up 4 old beat up rusty straight razors with the intention of restoring. The brands are Geneva, Wade & Butcher, A.J. Jordan, and the last just has these 3 letters OLF. I see a lot of the Geneva's and W&B's on these boards but can't seem to find much out about A.J. Jordan, and nothing at all about the OLF. If anyone knows anything about these 2 manufacturers I'd appreciate the info. Also would like to know if anyone does any tumbling services. The W&B has a nice etching on the blade and would like to find someone to clean it up correctly.

According to Goins; (c. 1878 - 1926) A. J. Jordan was an import company in St. Louis, Mo. Andrew J. Jordan was the founder. Much of the firm's business was done with Indian tribes, mainly the Gros Ventres, Blood, Blackfeet and River Crow tribes. The cutlery was made in both England and Germany. The trademark AAA1 was first used about 1886.

In 1911, Mr. Jordan's son Clay acquired the Platts Brothers Cutlery Co., of Andover, NY. He renamed the firm Clay Cutlery and A. J. Jordan acted as the selling agent for the knives.
