Thread: Hart Steel Razors

Not trying to start a fight or anything, I just thought it is interesting that we are in effect seeing the same thing with different views: at the end of the day a razor is for shaving.
Your/Others' opinion: it provides a great shave, so its worth it.
My/Our opinion: it provides a great shave, but not any better than any other razor, so its not worth it. (but some other razor that shaves equally well is worth that price)
Ahhhhh... the mysteries of RAD and how it shapes our preferences.

IMO, you could replace "Hart" in the original post with virtually any other (quality) brand razor and have the exact same discussion and opinions.

Ok so let me ask this? The one's that have been used or handled were they the TV or BG or it makes no difference both are of the same quailty. Most of the pictures I've seen TV has made them. Also when you Buy one do you get your choice of who made it?

They are made by one of two artisans- TV or BG. In theory they are (or should be) exactly the same.

I've thought about buying one but I'm holding off for now. If I was going to buy one I would call Classic on the phone and ask if I could get one with a thicker spine if there is variation. I remember reading that you can ask for one or the other maker. Here is a thread that Tim Zowada posted answering concerns that were raised when they were first introduced.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 2Mine gave me a very good shave. I thought the aesthetics nice and clean and it felt nice in the hand.
I haven't had to hone it yet but I have heard it's tough because the steel is so hard. That being said, I really want to support these guys - it's tough starting a small business these days and they seem eager to make it go. I gotta believe the early adopters will help them through the rough spots and I have to admit it's nice to see something made in the USA - we have to help them succeed.
