Thanked: 20TI: Historique or New Forgings?
Hey everyone,
So, I'm currently looking to save up some scratch to finance the purchase of a new TI from Rasurpur (and will shortly be trying to liquidate a good amount of my collection to do so). I've narrowed it down to two choices, and am leaning heavily towards the 'Sans Marque' Historique blade, but have had my eye caught by one of the New Forgings as well (the French/Square nose 6/8 in horn). Does anyone have any experience with either of these razors? Or general experiences with either the Historique line or the New Forgings (with the new fangled steel I believe)? Or even better, both of them! Any direction you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

I've got the new limited edition with the 'French Nose' and I love the thing. It is beautiful and a wonderful shave. I got mine from Classic. I've got an historic with the old steel and it is also good. I would say it is a matter of which style appeals to you the most. One or the other will be a good shaver if my dozen TIs are any indication. OTOH, if you are a sticker for detail sometimes the scales may not be symmetrical and stuff like that. Ask your vendor to give the razor the once over for quality control issues.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I just got new Ebony handled razor that came from Rasupur. The shave is fantastic. I also have vintage TI's that shave great. The edge, pardon the pun, probably goes to the C135 for ultimate in closeness. Buying from Martin is the way to go for quality control.

Just buy the one that talks to you. You'll be fine.
