Definately sure its an F for Fielding. It is more visible when zoomed in. I also have poor photography which doesn't help, in addition I hand sanded the razor which has partially eliminated the letter.

Scipio, No problem. I only asked. Because I can't connect J.Fielding, 1848 - 1867, with a great number of Halls.

I've had one or two pass through my hands but sadly i don't know much about this maker - from the looks of that blade I would say mid-Victorian C. 1860.

Thanked: 137Are you CERTAIN it's an 'F'? Looks like it could also be an 'M' in there, although don't know if there's a razor maker called Melding - Manah would know.

Look closer, its definately/ definately was an F! Zoom in if you have to. The space is to wide for an M and the top of where the F used to be does not line up with the I to make an M.
Take my word for it, it was an obvious F before I got the sand papers out to clean her up!
