I bought this about 6 months ago. It came in cracked ivory scales which I removed to clean the pitting which was pretty bad. Its been taken up to 2000 grit and is still in need of a damn good polish. Looks fairly shiny 'in the steel' so to speak, however scratches that are virtually invisible to the naked eye show up in pure abundance even with my poor photography!

Anyway, I can't find information. None at all. All I know is it was forged in Sheffield in Victorian times, as it has the letters VR and a crown on the tang. Other than that, it was manufactured by Hall and Fielding, who sadly ring no bells.

I love the blade though, spanish point/notch, Sweeny Todd looking, slightly more wedge than quarter hollow (Henckel scale II) and Shouderless with jimps.

Any info at all would be greatly appreciated. Dont suppose anyone here owns one?
