I have a pristine 7 day set of Gems. I have used the Thursday as well as the Sunday, I dont think they had ever been used before so I haven't used them since in the 2 or 3 yrs I have had them, but they do look nice!

The closest thing I've got to a set is a Le Coultre frameback with a set of six blades. I've only got three working so far. As for seven-day sets I've never really hankered after one, but I'll be interested to see yours when it's complete. Be sure to post pictures.

Thanked: 3Oh I am sure it will be a long while before I can manage to complete such a set. lol. I guess I should not be too surprised at the fact there are few if any people on this forum that wish to limit themselves to one type of razor, regardless of how much they like it. As I am sure that many of the most active members here have since become collectors as well as shavers. People who are passionate about their cars (and rich) rarely have more than two of the same car (the second one usually held as a spare). So they can experiance different terrain and drives whenever they feel like it.
But my feeling, is that since this is a specific tool, for a specific place. Little variety is needed. Once I find a razor that gives me a beautiful shave, I would like to experience that everyday. And if I am using the same kind of razor every time, I can improve my technique further without having to worry about new variables in the razor every shave. Consistency is the name of the game for me.
As such, I am rather heartened that I seem to be taking the road less travelled on these forums. It is nice to be a little different. lol. I will be sure to post some pics when I do finally start making some progress. heh.

Please, please do not waste your money on a 7 day set. Like everyone else here says, it is really, really not worth it, and most everyone here owns way more than 7 total razors. The fun of this is having some CHOICES in the morning -- wedge or hollow, spike or round point, old or new, things like that. Some razors I have right now are ones I can't stand the sight of, either because I've used them too damn much in the past month or because the last time I used it the damn thing sliced me. Other razors I can't get enough of right now. Brother, they are like WOMEN -- would you want to have a house full of 7 different girls to hang out with, or 7 exact copies of your wife!?!?! You get my drift.

The concept of a 7 day set was quite different back in the day as compared to now. Many years ago a seven day set was what the well heeled gentleman aspired to. It was a real status symbol that was used every day as it was intended.
Probably since WWll it became more of just something to buy and put away and more recently for most its strictly a collectible. However if your looking to get into straights and you have no interest in acquiring razors as most of us here do a 7 day set might be just the thing.
For me the closest thing I have to a matched set would be 2 TI SRP razors. I think dupes can be boring. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero
