Default Any idea what this might be worth

I managed to get this razors as part of a lot. There is one listed in the Wiki as well.

It needs a little TLC, and doesn't look as nice as the one from the Wiki, but I was curios as to what you might think it would be worth once it's been restored?

we do not give price estimations here on this forum.
Clean it up post it in the classifieds for w/e you think its worth. Alternative is to post it on eBay

My apologies. Wasn't thinking about selling it to be honest, just wanted to know if it had any value, but I'll refrain from asking these kinds of questions in the future.

How's this... that razor looks like it could be a good shaver. If I were a new guy with a similar razor, I'd send it out for honing and then have a nice shave.

    Cheers

When i was new to the site, i did the same thing...no worries man. New straights can be exciting and we of course want to know what value they might be.
One book, i'm aware, that helps a little bit in determining value is called, "Standard Guide To Razors." I know there are other books out there that are even more helpful.
I think it is a fantastic straight, btw... Congrats!

I would say look at ebay and the classifieds often. Look for the same maker and see what they are selling for. See if it has the same spine work. See how long it was on the class before it sold. That will tell you if its a hot item or priced too high.

Nice razor Matt. Looks like a Torrey to me but I can't make out the etching. I am a sucker for a worked spine and a French Point. The pearl covered tang is cool too. Ought to make a first class shaver and a handsome one always adds to the occasion.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Yes, it's a Torrey. As soon as I figure out how to replace the pearl cover on the other side of the tang I'll be restoring this and trying it out. I have another Torrey that I like, so I'm looking forward to trying this one out.

It really is in pretty good shape, just needs to have the tang cover replaced on one side, new pins and a little polishing. Not really any pitting that I can see, and very little surface rust.

    Thanks for everyone's suggestions.
