Ok I know nothing about this razor, but Clauss razors were made in Fremont Ohio and are good shavers. Now this razor is made in Fremont Ohio and has the exact same jimps as the Clauss razor my brother has? So they may have been made by the same company . He is going to see if he has a good picture of it so you can see what I am talking about.

Not a great angle but the jimps look exactly the same....
Looks very similar to me, not the best pics. Look like they could have very well have come from the same factory......
My Clauss is an awsome shaver as well, somebody in Fremont got something right!
Now we just need one of our local experts to come in and tell me that I'm way wrong lol.Last edited by ThePhill; 12-18-2009 at 03:23 AM.

Thanked: 101I am looking at a Croghan my self. I also own a couple of Clauss straights that are great shavers & hold an edge well.

Thanked: 884I've got one like that as well. Need to hone it and see if shaves as nicely as a Clauss I had that looked just like it. I too think the Croghan may be a Clauss made razor.

The Groghan Cutlery Company was in business from 1920-1940. Other than that I can tell you little about them, except that they are good shavers. I have had a few and they all took a real nice edge.
