Default Filly Doble Temple 13 - Spanish Point a la Max

Round point razors, particularly those 6/8 and wider, have too much of a popsicle stick look for me. I have some that I like, but for the most part I prefer other tip shapes.

A while back I managed to snag a NOS Filly 13 Doble Temple for a nice price on the Bay. But the popsicle stick look was, for me at least, a major drawback. Saw someone had had Max grind a Palmera to a Spanish Point, checked with Max re the price, and the rest is history.

For me, this totally opens up trying razors I'd previously avoided because of the round tip, like some of the 7/8 Dorkos or Henckels, or many fat round tips that I'd previously passed by in antique stores.

Pricing may vary by razor, so check with Max. But I will be sending more for re-shaping in the future.

I have to agree with you regarding round points and this is a great remedy for that.

    Default Filly Doble Temple

    Gentlemen,

The Filarmonica 13 Doble Temple not only is a great shaver, but it is also a lovely razor no matter what its point.

What Max has done with this razor, however, makes me think of the magnificent Greta Garbo floating in a Bugatti.

What a picture. This is beauty, gentlemen.

    Regards,

    Obie

    Default Filly Doble Temple . . .

    My dear Rob,

Thanks for the kind words. A couple of writing assignments, the novel, and some gigs out of town have had me singing soprano in the shower.

Oy — but where are the shekels?

Of course, nothing will ever interfere with a good shave. In fact, this morning I used my one and only Filarmonica 13 Doble Temple square point for a gentleman's shave.

    What a lovely razor.

    Regards,

    Obie

    Obie,

Glad to hear things are going well for you Things have been a little crazy here as well, but I would expect nothing less at this time of year

I look forward to the day I can pick up my own Fili. They do seem to give a nice, close, gentleman's shave.
