    I forgot about Russian razors though, Ive also seen a few.

    Is the question by the OP asking what immigrants would have bought within the US, or what they brought with them from Europe?
    I was originally asking about what they may have brought with them. But after thinking it through in my grandfather's case I suppose it might be what he may have purchased here in the US. Hell he was only 16 at the time so he may not have even been shaving yet.

    Razors were common items and plentiful and cheap so wherever you might be when you needed one you bought one. They were availabe everywhere you went. Common razors with celluloid handles or maybe bone were the ticket for most. I don't think most cared the least about the brand especially immigrants. If the price was right they bought it.

    If we speak about eastern european immigrants in 1910. First of all we must see the map of Europe at that time.
    At that time all French goods were on the first place, second Germany and Russia.
    About brands, hard to say, but I think in France - razors from Thier, in Germany - Solingen, in Russia ...unfortunately, I know only three manufacturers:
    Trud, 1830 - 1952;

    Nikolay Yarunin and Son, 1876 - 1950;

    Trindin and Sons, 1809 - 1933.

    To all, thank you very much for your input. To manah, thank you for the extra time that it must have taken you for the information on this subject. This is what I was hoping for and more. I recall that their location was Czechoslovakia, I believe eastern. I still need to pin point an exact region. Guess I should do that before everyone gets too old. Come to think of it I'm getting there myself.

    You are lucky. If you can wait there will be part of wiki with razors of Czechoslovak origin. Sparq from here is just setting it up and I know that members from Crezh razor forum getting ready to post there.
    As for quick answer. There were few local manufacturers as well as restamps of Solingen an of course razors from Solingen itself. Rarely you could find Swedish, French of Sheffield razors. My guess from what you can see going for sale would be the main manufacturer sold there Clauberg (Solingen).
    Perhaps if you can be more specific which town or district we could offer you more local knowledge.

    I will need to write a couple of letters to see if I can nail down a town or district. One of my uncles has copies of the immigrantion papers and I'm hoping that they have that kind of information printed on them. Wasn't aware that there is a Czech razor forum.
