    Default neetsfoot oil & horn??

    just wondering if the neetsfoot is a cleaner or perservative or something else for horn scales. thanks

    It'll keep them in good shape, & even perform miracles on old & tires scales. If they look completely knackered, give them a good soak overnight & they'll be rejuvenated.

    +1 on that, it works wonders.

    A couple of drops on the palm of your hands rubbed into your strop works well once or twice a year also.

    due you mean submerged or just a good heavy coat

    Either submerge, or a good, heavy coat then into cling film, or a plastic bag. Once they've been nourished, i sand them with wet & dry, then run them over a buffer. They can shine like glass!
