Marbles sells cheap knives so my guess would be its either asian in origin or Pakastani.

Thanked: 198hey all, thank you for that bit of information, i an now pretty certain i will not be going back for that one, considering that it is overpriced(selling at 25$) and its a POS. and besides for only 3 dollars more i can get a decent ERN. now if i want to pay for the trifecta, i can get either a boker with a really pretty set of scales or a thistle with a very unique set of scales in a presentation box either of which will set me back 85 dollars, and probably cost me a few months of sleeping on the sofa, for the little misses would be so totally pi$$ed at me it wouldnt be funny.

Marbles was a quality knife making company at one time. I know they are now cheap knives probably made in China. This is not unique to the knife world. There are lots of knife companies such as Schrade, that had a quality product and went out of business. Companies purchase a license to produce knives under the name they purchase the license for. Wostenholm knives is another example. They were originally out of Sheffield England. I have seen a bunch of new knives made in Japan that were licensed under another knife company. Robeson Knives is another but they are currently being made in the US and sold through a specific knife shop that currently owns the license for Robeson.“If you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got.” (A. The 100th anniversary razors are made in Pakistan and are of lamentable quality IMO.

Truly a shame. Marbles at one time was an excellent knife maker as well as gun equipment, based in Gladstone Michigan in the Upper Peninsula. I think Smoky Mountain Knife Works bought them out and there went any quality right out the door.
