Default Okay, how 'bout this one...

Alrighty, I just bought a Western Stone Co. Solingen. Does anybody know about these? Any good? Got it from this sites classifieds, so I'm hoping it was well cared for as well...

Welcome. Can't honestly say that I know anything about it other than it sounds like its a German blade marked for a cutlery company in the US. The good news is that those Solingen blades are, more often than not IME, damn fine shavers. Only one way to find out, put it to the test. Assuming it's shave ready there's no reason to think that it won't be a goody.

I don't know about Western but if what you got is a Wester Stone Co. you have a Wester Bros from early in their production. Good razors, I have a few of them and haven't gotten a lemon yet.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I can't think of any vintage blades that aren't good. It's primarily down to the grind suiting you, & the condition it reaches you in. Vintage razors take a good edge, providing the steel's not been buggered with, so you should be fine.
