Thanked: 522Latest find
I thought I would post my latest find from H. Geo. Henry in Columbia, PA. My wife is from Columbia PA. There was also a Columbia Cutlery there. The razor was made in Solingen Germany.
By the condition of the scales and no spine wear whatsoever, this razor is basically new but neglected because of the rusted jimps and deteriorated edge. See pics. Looks like I will be removing the hinge pin in order to properly restore the blade. I may end up with a 9/16 full hollow.
Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.... JERRYJERRY

Thanked: 522Here is the saw edge after 3 minutes on the DMT 325 with 1 layer of tape. It's not as bad as I thought originally but it will still have to be taken apart to properly polish the tang and recut the jimps. I wish I had my Bridgeport milling machine back again ). I would cut jimps in every razor that didn't have them.
I put some MAAS on the scales. Fantastic. This razor sat in the coffin for many years neglected, hence the rust and deterioration on the blade edge as seen in the original post.
There will be an issue with polishing the blade before I re-pin the blade to the scales. I might ask member "cannonfodder" to do the final polishing for me. He is very good at this. I watched him polish a razor which I purchased from him. He also makes the brushes that Lynn and Don sell at SRD.com. He is a very knowledgable person.
Again, if you have any suggestions about this razor, please share your thoughts.

Don't sharpen before clean up. It is great razor you shouldn't have too many problems with it.

Thanked: 522Thanks Sham. I was just curious about how much steel I need to remove before I had a complete full-length bevel.
