    Default Henckels 81 ...? Anyone?

This was the first razor I bought off of Ebay. I didnt know very much about buying razors, but I thought Henckels was a good name in cutlery and such. Scored it for a song. I received the package and inspected the edge. No nicks, dings, etc ... so I stropped and shaved with it. I got the closest shave with this blade I ever had without any dings, nicks or burn. Two passes and total bbs. At the time, I had about 5 SR shaves under my belt, with this one being #5.

Since then, I've purchased quite a few blades ... which are good in their own right, but just not up to par with that old Henckels 81. I get the same shave every single time I use it ... two passes, bbs and no burn.

As I look around to gather info about this blade, I come up empty.

Anyone else out there own one of these?

I am inspired to post because I shaved with it this morning.

I don't have an 81 but do have an 80, and I find I can't get it as sharp as i would like.

It's a great looking razor, that's why I keep it

I do not have an 81, but I do have 68 and a 60. Both are wicked sharp and BBS shavers. IMO, just like most other vintage blades tou can not go wrong with a Henckels. The 68 was my first straight shaver and still what I consider my sharpest.
