Default Mens grooming spots in Las Vegas

    Good evening everyone!

I know I should do a search for the answer to this question but I want more up to date info if it's available. Apart from the locations on the strip where can a local guy go and find good products for shaving. I don't want to spend exorbitant amounts of money for something I can find elsewhere. I am looking to purchase my first straight very soon and would love to be able to do some browsing and possibly get some tactile feedback from the products. If anyone has any recommendations please let me know. I would love to go and talk shop, if you will. Thanks for any help.

Art of Shaving and Truefitt & Hill both have stores in LV. AoS is in the retail center attached to Mandalay Bay and T&H is currently somewhere in the Mirage, having closed their Caesar's shop. As you might guess, neither place is exactly a discount venue, but they are still fun and you can sample all their stuff. I think the Apothecary at the Wynn carries some good stuff, including Penhaligons.

Hopefully Max will add to, or correct, my info. He's local and would have the best knowledge of what's going on.

Edit: I think T&H might be in the Wynn Spa now?

At Max's suggestion, I had the chance to visit The Art of Shaving at the Venetian, the "Palazzo" shopping area the week of Dec 15th.

Although pricey for someone on a budget, I got the "Royal Shave" which included a SR shave, a haircut and face massage for $80. BUT the real value came in the wealth of tips and suggestions I got from the Master Barber, Dave Mancusi, and were priceless. He was very willing to give me a few tips when I mentioned I was getting into SR shaving. You don't have to buy the products, but I did and am very glad I did. And of course I took care of him for the information (so extra cost there ).

Can't suggest anything off the strip, was only there for a few days and that is barely enough time to explore a portion of the strip.

Thanks for the reply. I am actually quite familiar with The Art of Shaving as my interest in shaving has been promoted by that business. I have never sprung for the Royal Shave, but after your recommendation I feel I should try! I was just hoping we would have some small hole in the wall that caters to people like me. In fact my barber just today thought I was crazy for wanting to learn straight razor shaving ( he said he actually encourages people not to try it!) but invited me back to show them how to do it when I learn myself. But another story for a different post. I'll keep my eyes open and let you know when I find something good. Thanks for the help. By the way, who is Max, where can I find him in here. It would be good to know someone else from Vegas that shares our interests. Thanks again.
