Default Newbie needs input on Puma razor find!

I went out antique shopping today when I came across this little treasure. I have been wanting a Puma for quite some time now and finally had a bit of luck today. I'm not sure of the specifics of this Puma. If any of you have any input on what I've found it would be much appreciated! Thankyou!

You found a good razor there. If you got it at a good price so much the better. One way or the other it looks really good. If you have it professionally honed it will make a great shaver.

    Default Info anybody???????????????

Can anyone tell me what the plastic ring around the tang is called, I think it has a nice feel to it. What does the number 39 represent? From what I researched this Puma could have been made in the 1930's. Anybody?????????

i call it condom since it's rubber and protects the shank.
the no.39 refers to the model. puma is fairly consistent with them i.e. every model corresponds to particular grind.
this one is something like half hollow if i remember mine correctly.

I am kicking myself... less than a month ago I came across a Puma razor, in such perfect condition that it looked literally brand new. I had never heard of the Puma brand, and thought that it must be a cheap and nasty number that was not worth the $15 Australian that the guy was asking for it.

    DamnDamnDamnDamn.
