Default well, Art of Shaving store in Glendale, California gets bad marks for...

... sending people who buy their str8ts to get honed at this place that doesn't know jack.

I mean, I'm new, don't know hardly anything about honing, and I know more then this guy.

plus, he never answers his phone. Groom It Industries in Los Angles. Avoid it.

well, I'm speaking of the one in Glendale. Don't know anything about the other Southern California stores and what they tell their customers about honing

The only one I know is Classic Shaving's new shop in Palm Springs. Never been there.

    Here's the review.

As you said yourself, you're new (nothing wrong about that) and currently you are critisizing somebody who, I presume, does that for a living and has no chance to counter your argument.

In fairness' sake, I for one would like to hear specifics of your conversation and how do you feel "doesn't know jack" to draw my own conclusions.

I'd also like to know whether you actually tested his edges and to what did you compare it with.

Even if he doesn't hone according to prevalent guidelines of SRP, doesn't mean he can't get a mean edge on a blade.

    What he said.
Why did he not know jack? He may know jack, tom and other people you don't know.

Perhaps you could give us some insight as to what the problem is. It would then be possible to form a more balanced judgement as to whether it's the blade or the way you are shaving with it.
