Thread: OVERPRICED !!

man, now that I'm becoming interested in str8t's, I've started noticing them in the antique mall/shops.

was waiting for my car to be fixed and wandered over to the antique mall next door and ask if they had in str8ts. Was directed to a Wilkinson 7 day set. Price was $350.00 and the razors were practically falling apart. Pins missing, part of the scales chipped off, edge's chipped. I was dumbfounded.

But I do notice that with the advent of ebay and the internet everything is just off the charts money-wise. I collect other things also: comic books, first edition pulp novels, japanese wristwatches and the vintage stuff all seems to go for OUTLANDISH prices now days. For junk pieces. Just junk. =

what gives? Yes, yes, I know that if someone wants to pay "x" for something then it's worth "x," however, you can not tell me these Wilkinson blades were worth 350$ in the rusted, pitted, chipped, scratched condition. Yes, maybe someone will pay that much for them, but they simply can not be worth that.
