Dovo v. Boker
I've noticed that Boker razors are much more expensive than Dovo razors. Why? Are they superior? I've heard nothing but great things about Dovo.

Disclaimer ~ This feedback is based on my personal experience and perceptions of these two brands. I own one Böker and five Dovo's, so my experience with Böker is limited.
OK, disclaimer out of the way... My experience is that both Böker and high-end Dovo's are both wonderful razors. With the exception of the Edelweiss, however, Böker doesn't make many entry-level razors. Dovo does. My higher-end Dovo's (Bergischer Löwe, Perlex Special, & Ebenholz Silver Steel) have the same apparent quality level as my Böker. My two entry-level models do not.
My perception is that Dovo produces far more razors than Böker and may enjoy some economies of scale (and can therefore price a bit lower). When similarly equipped, I think the price differential is minimal. An H. Böker & Co. standard in Bone is within about $30 or so of the similar Dovo Bismark in Bone. However, you can get a top-end Dovo for much less than a top-end Böker.

Perhaps someone can say for certain, but I was under the impression that Böker resumed standard production last year. Their website lists seven models in current production...
