    Default Wapi SFK stamp

It's been a while, how much are the wapi's with the metal scales SFK stamp worth these days.

About $2.50 apiece, but I'll give you $5

Why so much $5. I was looking to do a trade for a DE, hence the question.

Wapis are great razors and very underestimated. I reckon they can outshave some razors that are in excess of 10 times their cost. I got mine from the invisible edge for £30 ish shave ready, but Steve no longer stocks them. I would say about 60 dollars should get you one. I'm sure there is a guy on here who still sells them. I may be wrong.

The SFK versions are 5/8, while the non stamped equivalent is 9/16. The SFK marked ones are slightly more of a wedge from what I have seen.

Do not swap yours for a DE! DEs are plentiful, unless you want a super rare one, of which I know nothing about DEs; however Wapis seem to be getting increasingly rare...

I have a few SFK's hanging around from time gone by. I have since accumulated so many straights that these will never see the light of day. I am playing around with DE's now so I was wondering. Funny I still shave my head with my SRP Maestro Livi exclusively

    thanks again,

Haha. They are indeed awesome razors and I'm happy I stocked up on them. Some guy is still selling them for about 50-60$ a piece as a "service" to the community... I wouldn't pay much more than 25% of that price, out of principle. I'm not against profit but that's just way "overpriced".

The sellers in Poland usually sell them for around 16$ and are still making a profit.

Apparently the Poles just keep 'finding NOS Wapis' from what I have read. They were surgical razors and also used by members of the Soviet and Polish army from what I understand.

I read an ebay sellers description of a Wapi being sold about a year ago in the US somewhere, that there is 'practically a cult of Wapi owners!' pretty much in those exact words - and yes he was referring to the Wapi itself, not straights in general!

Great razors, but I would not want more than one, thats why I sold one of the two which I had. The other is rescaled in bocote and I used it today.

I wish I could get more but the source has long since run dry from Poland. I do get the odd one now and then from various sources. BTW it doesn't always follow that 5/8 are SFK and unbadged 9/16, I've seen at least five point styles (although the difference is not too marked in some cases) and three blade depths, four or more grinds and differing strike marks so there are plenty of variations. I think I sold maybe 300+ of them in their 'run' and just wish I could get them again. For the price, unmatchable.
