Depends on if you are looking for new or Vintage razors. For New razors, Merkur has several styles available for Vintage, my favorite is a Gillette adjustable. Honestly not sure of the model. I would go for one with a longer handle. For blades, I prefer the Derby or the Israeli Personna blades. West Coast Shaving seems to be a popular place for DE Shavers and they have several sample packs of blades that you can get so she can determine for herself what blades work best. I have heard that the Merkur blades are not so great and I would suggest staying away from the feathers also. Here is West Coast's site

well, she loves antiques, so I'll just have to keep my eyes open. Thanks for the starting point though. I suspected a longer handle would be better, but thanks for confirming, and am I right in assuming that lighter/less aggressive is better? I'm thinking leg hair is similar to arm hair, takes much less than face hair? am I on the right track?
