    Default Jackpot!

Stopped in to see my regular guy today, and found these:

Wade and Butcher "Gentleman's Razor No.1" In pretty good shape. Slight frown-ish action in the middle, but not as bad as the photo makes it seem. With no shoulder, should be easy to hone out. Scales are dead, though.

HUGE Geo. Savage & Sons "Patent Tempred" (That is the way it was spelled). Small nick about 1/4" from the tip, not too much of a problem. Nabbed these two, a George Wostenholm & Sons Pipe and an old Barbicide container. Going back in the morning for an Anchor Brand and a Bismark. He had a Boker King Cutter with MOP looking covered tang, but the blade had a radiating bluish hue close to the edge on one side, as though someone had hit it with some heat or a grinder... Not sure.

You didn't do too bad . They're nice old razors . The first one will need some serious hone work . I'd start with around 220 grit , and work the frown out to get the line of the edge the same as the spine .

Didn't do too badly, indeed. When you consider that I got them for free, it seems as though I did even better!

Well, not FREE free. But a bit of a trade. Free as of today.

You can't beat free ! The Geo. Savage looks nice . I like the domed pin-washers . You may want to reuse them if you rescale it .

Those Savage razors are utter rubbish and a danger to the general public. In fact they should carry a government health warning. Please post it to me right away and I will, er, dispose of it safely for you!
