ern junior razor "the ringer"
hey,
i was wondering if anybody has come across this razor? ...
my dad found it in some flea-market or some place. i wanted to know if it's a decent razor. going to try and get it sharpened professionally, see if it'll work fine. the blade has the marking "the ringer" and on the shank, "pearcy", the scales are metallic, and are marked with, "ern junior razor" on the sides, on the end of the scales: "german silver" and on the other side: "made in u.s.a. pat's apl'd for"
what are your thoughts/experiences with this razor?
thank you

Scales look interesting, seem to have some sort of inbuilt safety guard or something.

I haven't come across a bad vintage Solingen made razor yet so I am sure it's going to be fine once it's cleaned up and honed.

I may be utterly mad here but that scale design reminds me of a harmonica

Could this razor be a mismatch of blade and scales? In looking through the list of all the Ern trademarks in the Wiki, neither "The Ringer" or "Pearcy" appear there. Also, the pivot pin looks to be a screw, which might indicate that a Pearcy blade was inserted into Ern Junior scales. It would be interesting to see a photo of the reverse side of this setup. However, I do think those scales are pretty cool and if I had them I would probably match them up to another blade to keep them functional too.

that is what i have been thinking as well. that it might be mismatch. the other side of the razor has no markings on it, neither the blade nor the shank, the scales have the same "ern junior razor" on them.
has anybody heard of pearcy razors?
i've googled it, but haven't found anything substantial
