dovorazors.com
Has any one orderd from these guys before?
They seem to be resonably priced and aparently shave ready. But this will be my first straight so would like some advice.

I am not familiar with the vendor, but Dovos are great razors!
It is easier to fool people than to convince them they have been fooled. Twain

yea i found it through a link on the invisible edge, but wasn`t sure if its the same company. or not. Diffrent web address, and slightly diffrent lay out, poor graphics. just a little unsure about ordering off there. prices ect seem to good,
was hoping some one had ordered from them before. cos to me it seems like a bit of a scam site, where you pay but nothing gets delivered.

Why have three sites? Well, we believe that it’s easier and lessens confusion - especially for anyone new to straight razor shaving - to do it this way. And now that orders can be placed whilst seamlessly moving between sites, purchasing from us, or using our services

I can assure you it's not a scam site. As to the poor graphics, well graphic designers cost a lot of money and it's the customer who ends up paying. If you had taken the trouble to dig a bit deeper you would have seen that it is part of Maybank Associates, A group of three websites allied with another two, who form Townsend Associate. All use the same sort of format and seem fairly popular. The sites in total are:
(www. of course!) -
theinvisibleedge.co.uk
dovorazors.com
razorsharpening.co.uk
thiers-issard.co.uk
sabatierknivesuk.co.uk
How do I know all this? Well, I own them......................!Last edited by blueprinciple; 01-26-2010 at 08:02 PM.

Ahhh, Sorry if i caused any offence blueprinciple, I had read the website. But with a combination of prices that seemed too good to be true and a rather unusual format to the site/s i thought it safest to ask.
Given the reviews i`ve herd now i shal be pointing the Mrs in your direction for my birthday presents.

Ian - no problem. Anyone is entitled to doubt websites with so much fraud going on - that's why we decided to put our contact details on ours. The danger to us with asking questions such as you did in open forum is that people can easily take it as true, or, if not that, start spreading questions round this and other razor forums - it can spread like wildfire and, as the old saying goes, bad news is round the world before good news gets it shoes on.
we've worked quite hard at the sites to give them an 'individual' look (well at least that worked!) and hope they are interesting and informative. They do form a sole source of income - it's no hobby! - so believe me when I say we do tend to go the extra mile for customers.
Hope to hear from you soon (maybe with an order!)
