Sham, it is definitely not celluloid. Your hot needle (was it glowing red?) would have vaporized celluloid with a "POOF" sound and white chemical smoke. So, your scales are either very fine grained bone, or ivory. No pores visible at all, thin scales, probably ivory. Thick, some pores at ends of scales, means bone.

Yes it was red almost melting temperature. i did a lot times inside but it didn't do nothing to the scale seems like nothing touches to the scale. when i touch outside it did produce very sharp black color .i am no sure it is may be something on the surface of the scale because that black just on the surface not deep.
It is very thin scale all my ivory scales are thin i mean really thin. Never seen plastic so thin. i will take better picture tomorrow and lets see.

Ivory. Up close, you should smell a burnt tooth smell like at the dentists office, after touching the hot pin to the scale. Does the black mark wipe right off? It should, with ivory. The hot pin should not penetrate ivory at all.
