I have both DOVO and Wacker razors, and both makes are excellent.

IMHO, they are quite comparable in terms of the actual feel of the razor on your skin, with the Wacker having slightly harder steel, or so it feels to me. My Wacker settled down after a couple of shaves and got really smooth, whereas my DOVO's have all been smooth right after the first stropping. Stropping 100 laps on newspaper really helped my Wacker smooth out.

They are well made, give great shaves and are a delight to hone, so go with whichever one catches your eye!

If this is your first razor, and you havent used a straight razor before, I would argue that you get the DOVO as they tend to be a little cheaper on average than Wackers. Theres no point in sinking a load of cash into a great razor and then finding out that you dont like using it!

Also, the Wacker has a Spanish point which may increase the chances of a nick for beginners. The DOVO, being a round point, is arguably that little bit safer!

But if you're already well on your way then, as Obie says, go with what catches your eye!

    Good luck!
