Default Travel straight razors with the slide cover?

The plastic cover slides over the razor and, in theory, everything is secure.
Anyone use one? I see them every now and then on eBay, but they seem like they might be a bit bulky and light, although I've never handled one. Also smaller blades. I really don't see the advantage over just taking a razor or two in a double case or it's coffin. Marketing gimmick or useful item?

I find that most vintage razors have some wiggle room in their coffins, but not enough to risk damage. I think the idea of a purpose built travel razor with an integrated cover has some appeal (at least to me), but not enough to spend extra just to get one. I'd rather have a blade I really like and improvise travel protection for it.

I've never used one, but I've seen a sweet vintage Case razor in person that had the plastic sliding case that completely enclosed/shielded the razor when closed. I thought it was a very cool idea and a nice design.

It was for sale by a knife collector. He knew the Case brand well and wanted much more for it than I wanted to pay.

So, has anyone actually used one? I'm just curious how one handles.

I've got this one and the scales are very light weight and with this particular blade it is well balanced and not handle heavy. Shaves well too.
