Sweet. I really like the way the Bizzy's look (shape wise, I'm not much a fan of gold wash though) and shave (though I don't really like round points - but I do think the round point ones look better than the square point ones).

    Default New Razor Purchase

    Hello, David:

Congratulations on the "Bismarck." I have the white bone handle version, purchased from SRD, and it is one of the sweetest razors in my modest collection.

Lynn honed mine. If I am not mistaken, Lynn also hones the razor at Vintage Blade.

You will enjoy many glorious shaves with that lovely razor.

    Regards,

    Obie

    Thanks Obie,

As I said, I struggled with the bone vs. black. One thing that went through my mind on the bone is that it had the engraving plate on it. To me, I think that means it is something someone buys for someone else as a gift and gets it engraved. I would not buy something for myself that was that personalized. JMHO.

And yes, Lynn hones Vintageblades razors.

    Default New Razor Purchase

    Hello, Alembic:

The "Bismarck" has received good reviews. It is a lovely razor, with a variety of models to please every taste. I have seen pictures of the one you have. It is a fine looker.

I love my "Bismarck." By Jove, it seems to blossom more with each shave.

    Regards,

    Obie

Well, my new Bismark arrived. I absolutley love the blade. Scales not so much. There is a fair amount of warpage on the scale where the Slolingen logo is and some pits that were attempted to be buffed out.

I know that this has nothing to do with Vintageblades. This is clearly a Dovo issue. Personally, I would not have put this in a box and shipped it if Dovo were my company.

It could probably be heated and fixed.

So I like it a lot - but not in love yet. I have not shaved with it yet, so I can't comment on the shaveability, but asthetics are about a +6 right now.

Well done on the bonus and congrats on the new toy!

My Bismarck is one of my favourites, a great shaver and a real beuty as well. I love that shoulderless design!
