Idyll thoughts
It occurred to me this morning that the INVICTA razor I am using is probably about 150 years old. How did it get to me? Was it bought in England or Europe and emigrated to Canada with its original owner? Was it exported to North America for sale, and if so, where was it bought that it wound up in a farm auction in the Eastern Townships a century later? Who has it shaved before that farmer and I? I dried it thoroughly and put it away with care.

In the 1950s there was a television show called "Naked City". The narrator used to say (I'm trying to recall this after a half-century) something like . . . "There are five million stories in the naked city, and this is just one." Wouldn't it be great if all of our old razors could speak? Then we wouldn't have to write the forum to ask, "How old is my razor?" "Where did my razor come from?" We could just ask the razor.

sigh
yes, well, that doesn't work with my dog, either. I agree it would be wonderful, (if a tad scary.)
