Thanked: 0Henckels #60
Hello hello!
I'm pretty new here, and to straight razor shaving in general. I inherited a Henckels #60 from my dad, and I'm just curious if anyone has experience with it, and can comment on its quality. The scales are hardly anything to marvel at, but I get the impression that the blade is quite well made (as seems to be the case with most things Henckels produces). All I have is the razor, and I'd like to know more about the specs. I've had a lot of difficulty tracking down any posts pertaining to this razor, so I've decided to start this thread. Thanks.

Dunno about the 60, but Henckels blades are top notch. If she's in good shape or can be brought there, she'll be a heck of a shaver.

There's one (post 8) in this thread, a fine looking piece it is too. As you can see if you look through that thread, there are a lot of fans here. I haven't got one yet, but my experience of Solingen blades in general is that if there are no problems with the blade they are at worst, very fine and at best, dream shavers. Sounds like you have a nice heirloom there, I envy you. Pictures would help in assessing the blade and it would be a good idea to get it sharpened before trying to use it, though you probably know that already. Good luck.

Thanked: 1903A friend of mine bought one in the 80s whilst in the army. Honed it up for him recently. Very nice razor. German quality and all that.
