    Default Blade info?

New guy here. I've got a razor from my grandfather I'm considering getting renovated. I've tried to find the brand history, but have come up empty handed. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Details: Etched on the blade is PFAU-SOLINGEN and next to it is a bronze/gold colored, circular inlay or stamp of some kind with maybe an abstracted tree or flower. Stamped on one side of the tang is Solingen and on the other is 300. No scales.

I'm sure pictures would be more helpful, but I don't have any yet.

    Thanks for the help.

Never got an ID, but does this one look pretty salvageable? Would it be worth the $50 plus for the restore? Any recommendations?

Does the edge have any deep pitting at or very near the bevel ? If it doesn't I would spend $50 to get my grandpa's razor back in service. If it does have pitting in the bevel as long as it can be honed to clean steel it will be alright. As a collectible it wouldn't be worth much to anyone but you. OTOH, with the history behind it I would think it would be really cool to be shaving with it.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
