Thanked: 0Need help locating a razor
First, I would like to thank the host of this website for allowing me to join.
Second, I have tried desperately to find my husband a G. Johnson straight razor from Sheffield England. He is a huge fan of straight razors and has several in his collection. He has a G. Johnson that we got off of eBay a year ago but upon it's arrival the blade had a hairline crack in it and no doubt is shortening its usefullness.
If anyone knows of where I could find one or if someone has one for sale I would be forever grateful.
Kindest regards,
Patty Frazier "A desperate housewife"

I'd check the classifieds here, and the 'Bay as well.
Someone may also see this thread and have one they are willing to part with..!
Good luck in your search!
I'd remove your email address from your post as well, lest spammers get hold of it and you get 1000 emails a day asking you if you want to buy cheap mobile phones or something..! People can contact you via private message using the forums service.

you can post an ad in the wtb/wtt section in the classifieds.
I think I may have an almost restored blade without scales if you don't find anything else.

Look carefully at the name stamp. It could be C.Johnson as in Christopher Johnson. There was a George Johnson that pre-dates Christopher, but that company name appears to have ended mid 19th century.

Welcome to SRP. Forum member 'manah' has one that you can see in this post here . If he still has it he may be willing to part with it for a desperate housewife.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 0Thank you all for your quick and kind responses. Yes, the razor is defintiely G. Johnson, it has the hammer and the stars around it just as the one that is pictured.
JimmyHAD - that is EXACTLY what I am looking for!
gugi - That would be wonderful!
How do I go about finding out about 'manah's' razor? Also, guji, I'm sure my husband would be interested in your blade without the scales. Please PM me and let me know your asking price.
Gentlemen, I am forever grateful for your knowledge, information and offers!
gugi, I look forward to hearing from you! I will also contact 'manah'.
I always knew men that used straight razors where a 'cut above the rest'.

Patty, go to 'private messages' on the right below your screen name. Send 'manah' a PM asking if he still has the razor and if it is for sale. He does sell some on occasion so it may be one he is willing to part with if he still has it.

I would suggest taking this whole hunt to PMs or the classifieds from this point. Forum rules say talk about buying, selling, or trading should not take place anywere on the forum except the classifieds and, of course, PMs.

I didn't realize that Dylan. Thanks for the heads up. Patty, I should have thought to suggest that you go to the SRP classifieds here and put in a WTB (want to buy) G. Johnson razor.
