Default My first razor! Dovo with ebony handle

    Hey Everyone!
Yesterday I got my first razor (21st bday)! The Dovo with ebony handle. I love her, she is amazing, today I'm getting her honed by Oz (I just found out he lives a 15 minute drive from my house, small world ey), but even now, she is SHARP! I thought my other knives were sharp (I always keep them sharp enough to slice through an A4 page in one go, and shave hairs of my arm), but compared to my razor, they dont compare lol. I didnt try cut paper with my razor, dont worry lol, I did a dry shave on a patch on my arm and leg WTG and ATG, there was no pull or anything, it was amazing! I cant wait to see what she is like after Oz has honed her . Today I will be having my first shave .

I also got some cash from my extended family, so I think im going to buy a set of hones, and an old ebay razor to learn the art . Now begins the search for the perfect hone :P. Any recommendations would be awesome , but i still have plenty of reading to do before i make a decision

    Thanks,
    Marco

Congrats on the first razor. I was lucky enough to have a friendly forum member who lived 45 minutes away and was willing to show me his honing techniques. It is a great asset to have a one on one. Hats off to Oz for being willing to show you the ropes.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
