Thanked: 1371Our Own Razor
I may have asked this before...
Anyone familiar with this brand? I have two of them... There are no other markings, or stamps.
I am not sure if the H looking thing in the center of the logo is supposed to be a letter H, or just a shape within the logo.

Goins Encyclopedia states that "August Kern St. Louis Mo" is stamped on the back of the tang. Goins guesses that Kern was in business in the 1920-1940 time frame. Possibly this was a mark put on razors made by a manufacturer and sold to various retailers.

Thanked: 1371Walt... I missed something there... Where did we get the Kern tang stamp from?

In the Goins' alphabetical listing it states:
OUR OWN g 1920-1940 "August Kern St. Louis Mo" is stamped
on the back of the tang.
That is all the information they have available. Apparently, when they were gathering data for this encyclopedia, they came across a razor with these markings, but had little or no additional information. Since your razor doesn't have any other stamping, it may have been sold by Kern or by some other retailer/distributor.
