    Default What to get next...

    Hey guys,

I have the hitch to get a new razor. My current collection of 6 razors consists of all 5/8 razors and one 6/8 razor. I like hollow ground razors. What should I buy next? Any suggestions? I'm not looking to spend too too much money.

    Cheers,

    JF

I don't know exectly what you are looking for, but I am looking at Revisors for my next purchase
    Rasiermesser

Check these out! Affordable and very cool looking! I am looking at the Black 6/8 shoulderless with the bolsters.

Check out Holli4pirating's page here. He has a real nice pair of Greaves and a Le Grelot for sale.

What about points? Do you have a preference?

Size? Do you like the 5/8 or the 6/8 better?

I would guess that if you have a preference on grind, point and size to an extent, you can go a little bigger in the size(if you already prefer the 6/8), different materials (I like a 7/8 in carbon, but a 6/8 in SS), different niceties like thumbnotches and jimps, or just different manufacturers of countries of origin.

I enjoyed a 5/8 spike point, full hollow, then I really enjoyed a 6/8 and an 8/8 spike point, full hollow, so the next logical purchase was a 7/8 spike point, full hollow, which I really, really, really enjoy. It's been my go-to for a few months now.

Wow. I think I only provided more questions. Sorry, I was trying for answers

I think giving someone else advice on what razor to get is very difficult, because it all boils down to personal preference.

You may want to sell off two and pick up two different razors to try them out and provide some greater variety to your rotation. Just a thought.

Get a 4/8 . That way you can give yourself a 3 razor shave . Do the first pass with the 6/8 , the second with the 5/8 , and use the 4/8 for the tight spots .
