Thanked: 0Info on Solingen 7 day sets?
Looking to pick up a old Solingen 7 day set, but haven't been able to find any real info about these razors.
My first question is whether these sets were meant to shave with or to be kept as collector/showpieces? Secondly, if they are to be shaved with are these razors any good?Last edited by brumble; 03-01-2010 at 12:05 AM. Reason: sp

Thanked: 0Not sure what actually is the brand.
The handles of the razors are marked "Solingen" in script. The blades have an anchor and what looks like crossed swords in gold wash in the middle of an etch reading "High Class". The tangs are stamped with either "Silberstahl Solingen" or "Adresso" (or possibly "Adressa") in script. As a seven day set, each blade has a day of the week on the top of the spine.Last edited by brumble; 03-01-2010 at 03:44 AM. Reason: detail

Many of those generic razors sold in sets like that were made to be sold to tourists as momentos of their trip to germany however they are quality razors and certainly can be used.

Thanked: 0I'll try to get a photo up.
First I've heard that. Is there some way to identify such a set? I haven't been able to find any information, but the few bits I have found all say that seven day sets were high-end items made for, and bought by, the wealthy or aristocracy.
