    Default New baby!

    Hey all!

Today I bought my second straight! Its a Boker King Cutter. I was hesitant to get it at first because it was an ebay find, and I have never bought anything from ebay in my life (nor online for that matter...) Never fear, I DID watch Lynn's video on ebayzors first. I can't help but be a little skeptical, but assuming that everything goes as planned I'm sure it will be a relatively painless experience. I just have a predisposition not to trust people over the internet and I am so new that I do not know for certain that I did it right... I guess I'll find out if/when it arrives.

I know this IS NOT the place to ask this question but I though that maybe one of you wouldnt bitemy head off for asking:
When you go to pay for something over ebay, all I did was go to "My Won" items and then the the "Pay Now" button. It didn't ask me to put in the other guys paypal or anything and Im just worried that my money went somewhere other than him. Does ebay automatically link our accounts?

It appears to be in good condition. The blade has no chips in it, although the spine shows some signs of its age. Square point- which I am fond of.
I am almost certain that the scales have been changed, because if Im not wrong the old Bokers had an insignia on the scales, and this one does not- not a big deal since im in it for a good shaver, not a collectible.
I think I got seriously lucky here, given the condition. Ive heard Bokers praised for the great shaves they tend to give, so I will be delighted to give her a try. Pictures will be posted assuming that it actually gets here.

Any thoughts about the purchase? I know that you dont know the condition or price, but in general have I done well?

Awesome man, congrats on the boker, they r excellent shavers, as far as paying, as long as you payed for it and went through your paypal(signed in, ect.) , it should be fine, you can always check your paypal account to see if the transaction went through

Thought that I might add a few pictures that I was able to pull from ebay.

I was hoping someone might be kind enough to direct me to a thread on restoration. As you can see, the blade will need to be brightened up a bit. Just polished or buffed- but I would like to have some information on how to do it before I forge ahead.
I think I will keep those scales until I absolutely must change them. I really dig the old-school look that the thing has right now.

There do appear to be very faint etchings on the blade that say "King Cutter" but they are so faint that you can hardly see them in the pictures. Any ideas on restoring them a little bit?

I have no idea what the edge itself is like, but more likely than not I will have to start looking around for a set of hones to get her singing again.

I know that this razor will be a good shaver and that is the only reason I picked it up. My current razor belonged to my grandfather, and I would feel bad if I lost it, broke it, or anything like that, so this Boker is to be my daily shave- though I might break out my grandads as a special treat every once in a while.

Now that you have pictures, let me know what you think of it! I know that we do not talk much about prices on SRP, but I will tell you that I got this piece for under fifty dollars. How about that?

I've got three of those and I'd never part with any of them!

    Nice Score.
