Does anybody have any information on Italian made razors. I have a G. Amodo "Rigoletto" razor, made in Avellino, Italia. I cannot find any information on this company or on any Italian razor manufacturers. Are Italian made razors rare?,I ask this because I cannot find any other Italian made razors. You can see the photo of the razor under fourms, show and tell, I Got lucky on German,English,American,Italian razors. Thanks in advance for any information you can share on this subject.

Wow! Mastro Livi makes some nice looking razors and very expensive. This must be a rare razor that I found because nobody seems to know anything about it or has one like it, and maybe my razor may be worth more than a Mastro Livi ?, because you can find his razors on the market and you do not see my razor come up at all, not to say there's not another one out there somewhere. Something tells me I got a special razor. Here is some photos of the razor.

Good looking razor in real nice condition. Once it is honed up to shave ready condition you'll have a really nice shaver there.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

If I were you, I wouldn't add a rider onto my homeowner's policy to cover the value of your new razor just yet. I have a number of razors that have no traceable history. There were hundreds of razor manufactures in the past couple of centuries who prospered for a short time and then fell off the face of the earth. You have a nice looking razor which should hone up to be a good shaver, but don't plan on sending your children through college by selling it in the future.

Yes, even in Germany there were many many makers of razors who are essentially unknown these days though their wares pop up from time to time. Italy did produce fine razors it's just that it's not as well known as the usual suspects we have now.

I couldn't find any info about Italian razormakers. But trademark "Rigoletto" was used by Robert Höhmann Söhne from Solingen. Possible, R.H. Söhne made razors for G. Amodo company.
