been a while since full hollows hit the rotation...
and boy does my face look like my first strop. I forget what an incredibly smooth shave can be had from a full hollow but the blade is so much less forgiving. no gashes or anything, but touch your face with the blade at the wrong angle for a split second and you got a straight line of red. Had to use the alum stick about 3 times.
anyone else ever use a style of razor for so long that when you switch over it takes you a shave or two to remember how to drive?

I try to shave with a variety of grind razors weekly that way I have the magic touch and the memory of technique. I had your same experience that is why I use different grinds weekly.

Thanked: 190Starting out and getting use to having the fine edge blade on your face, you sometimes forget to be cautious about it and get what you got. Two of these "reminders" and I wised up quickly.
I have such a variation of razors and the basic shaving techniques works on all of them so not much difference in the basic shaving technique. Where they differ is in their maintenance.

It's the opposite for me...I learned on a hollow and I use them daily. I do have a W&B wedge that I know is shave ready, but for some reason it just beats me up every time I use it....like the blade just bullies it's way through the hair instead of using any kind of finesse. I seldom cut myself with it, but then again, I always set it aside or end up DFS.
