Alfred Williams, Sheffield and Genco Seneca Chief
I picked up a couple of razors and was wondering if anyone can tell me about the age of them. I had them restored by Max at Madaspenhome and he stated they turned out "stellar", but am waiting to get them back in the mail.
One is a Alfred Williams, Sheffield and the other a Genco Seneca Chief.
Thanks

You might find some interesting info in the Genco Club.
"Cheap Tools Is Misplaced Economy. Always buy the best and highest grade of razors, hones and strops. Then you are prepared to do the best work."

I don't know about Alfred but Genco was a good old American company that made razors for the barber trade mostly. I have a half dozen marked Fluid Steel and they are all hard steel that take a wicked sharp edge. Found this in an old post; GENEVA CUTLERY CO. Geneva, New York 1902-1935
By 1912, the largest US manufacturer of razors. In 1928, firm reorganized as Geneva Cutlery Inc. Purchased by WR Case in 1935 sold razors under the "GENCO" trademark.Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
