Thread: Has anyone heard of Colee? Comments on this razor?

While searching for a straight with ivory scales I came across this on eBay (auction has ended):
BEAUTIFUL COLEE STRAIGHT RAZOR-ETCHED BLADE-IVORY? TANG - eBay (item 260564244440 end time Mar-11-10 11:54:52 PST)

I've never heard of Colee before, but then I'm quite new to wet shaving.

Does anyone have any information about this razor?

I ended up winning it for $51.75 shipped. Does that seem reasonable, or did I overpay? I was quite taken with the ivory covered tang and tortoise scales.

I'd like to have this razor both restored and honed before I begin to use it. Any recommendations on who I might commission to restore it?

Welcome to SRP. I think you did well. If I had won it I would just use the metal polish and have it honed. Sending it to a skilled restorer would have it as good as new though. Thanks Jimmy! I've been reading through the SRP wiki and am pretty much finished with the beginner's guide. I'm just waiting to finish healing a shoulder injury so I can bring my dominant hand all the way up to my face. While I'm shaving off-handed I figure I'll stick with DEs.
