    Default Fairy's dust works!!

I applied some chrome ox to one of my linen strops this morning and gave one of my troublesome razors 20 strops followed by stropping on plain linen then leather.

I noticed the edge may have a bit more shine (the blade has a mirror finish already).

This morning, this razor (dobie) worked great!! A shave to match the best in my little stable!!

I'm impressed to say the least.. (bought from classifieds and at the rate required for this magic, that little packet should last 10 yrs or so) the amount i used is not even visible as volume loss in the packet.

Congrats! That CrOX is good stuff.

Just remember not to overdo the passes as it is quite abrasive. A few strokes are good, but more are not always better..!

    Glad your shaves have improved.

I enjoy a bit of CroOx after honing to smooth out my edges just that extra little bit. I only do a few passes, then go to the leather... I'm a fan though

I totally agree. I like to do 10 passes on a Tony Miller chromium oxide pasted paddle strop (was plain, I added Hand American CroOX to the leather) in between stropping on linen and before leather stropping. I do this about once a month for the razors in my normal rotation. It's magic! Sharpens and smooths the edge.

Ha! Been waiting for someone else to mention the CrOx magic. Personally, I have Ray-man's CrOx/balsa strop, and that thing works like a razor edge time machine.
