Thread: Zephyr Solingen?

Hi Everyone,

Hoping someone out there in the forum world could tell me a bit more about a blade I've just found that isn't in the Wiki.

It's marked "2 Zephyr Solingen" on one side, and simply "Germany" on the other with "Silver Steel Electric" etched on the blade. One curious thing I noticed when brushing off some rust was that the filings were magnetically clinging to the blade in radiating patterns as Iron filings do with a magnet, something I haven't seen when sanding blades in the past (hence 'Electric' I guess?).

I like the shape of this blade and its in relatively good condition (the tip of the blade, around where the reflection changes is a little "foiled" so it may need to be ground a little 'rounder' though) so It would be good to know anything more about the Zephyr brand or this blade in particular if anyone has come across one before.

Also picked up a Geo Wostenholm, with "Conqueror" (something I didn't see on any in the Wiki) etched on the blade - though sadly its honed to buggery (it's only about 19mm/0.75' wide) and quite rusty, so probably junk. - Anyone think it's worth tidying up?
