First Razor (KB Extra 67)
Just found what I hope to be a decent deal on eBay for a Krusius Brothers "Extra 67" Razor. I've yet to receive it but, to my untrained eye, it looks to be in decent shape in the photos at least. Paid $14 for it shipped.
Looks like it still needs shined up a bit and surely needs honed but can anybody spot any glaring faults I've missed?
I know I'm still a few weeks away from my first shave but fingers crossed.

Welcome to SRP. KB Extra razors are good brands. Good luck with your purchase. It probably will not be shave ready. Even if you hone knives I suggest you sent it to a person that advertises in the classified section of this forum to get honed properly. After you learn to shave with it you can try your hand at honing if you like.
Also, re usually recommend that eBay not be the source of the razors for a newbie unless you have the funds to absorb some razors that can not be made shave ready. There are lots of razors on eBay being sold that can not be made shave ready and are barely correctable just for appearance. If the budget is an issue and you want a shave ready razor buying from a member of this forum is a safer purchase.
Be sure to read through the beginner section of the WIKI on the menu bar above for some selected articles on shaving and razor purchases.“If you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got.” (A. Einstein)

There is one glaring problem..
Right next to the heel of the blade, there is a 1/16"+ crack.
You will not be able to safely shave with this razor.

Hmm, completely overlooked that...oh well, only $14, maybe I can use this to hone my honing abilities (so long as I'm mindful of the crack). Until then, off to the classifieds!

Might I suggest you re-check the description. If you wanted, you may be able to get your money back. Sometimes if a crack or chip is not covered in the description, the seller will give you a refund. Of course other times, they will indicate that the "pictures are part of the description", which is a way they cover their ass.
You could always ask, I've found most sellers to be pretty reasonable.

I probably could get a refund but IMO $14 isn't to bad for a practice razor that I don't have to worry about messing up while learning to hone. At least it will hold a good edge so I can gauge what I'm doing right when I step up to a better razor.
