Satinedge
There are just a couple things I like all wrapped in satin. Those ducks are one.
Don't get hung up on hanging hairs.

My DD also snags on the scales if I'm not careful. Its a sweet shaver though, and I'm keeping my eye on the 'Bay for the next one..!
Glad you like yours! She's a real beaut!

Thanked: 6Yea. I've been reading some other threads on strightening celluloid scales. I'm not so hot on a hairdryer on trasparent scales. Considering just living with it as terribly annoying as it is.

Those transparent scales are great! I've only seen them tinted before.

Thanked: 1195That Satinedge looks pretty much identical to mine. Great shaver, and it was my first shaveready straight. Congrats!
BTW- they say the DD's extremely thin grind contributes to the ease of honing and superb shaves; I'm inclined to agree, though I'm not usually a fan of extra hollow blades

i think all dducks have some sort of twist to the scales,i was fed up with my goldedge blade not sitting in the center of the scales,so i plugged in my heat gun and warmed up the scales slowley and with a wooden paint stick between the scales and some carefull massaging igot that SOB right where i wanted it .

Thanked: 6Right - let me follow up on that...
I have been reading that if you heat up Satinedge transparent scales, they can be shaped...
Just so I know what I am looking for, when the scales heat up... I presume the scales simply soften?

Thanked: 1185What a peach of a razor! I'm currently doing a bit of Duck hunting myself. If I'm lucky enough to find one half that nice it'll be almost as good as a girlfriend half my age. Your post has ensured the survival of my SRAD for some time to come.
