You have a good razor there that should clean up easily and make you a good shaver. The Geneva Cutlery Co. was in business from 1902 to 1935 and produced very good American made razors. I bought eight razors belonging to a retired barber and five of those were Genevas. That seems like a pretty good endorsement.

    Regards - Walt

Welcome to SRP. +1, Geneva is a good razor. If you're intending to shave with it you ought to have it professionally honed. You can find members who perform that service here in the SRP classifieds. Check out the SRP Wiki here for the beginner's guide and SRP founder Lynn Abrams suggestions for your first straight razor shave.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

    Welcome to SRP.
Walt is right, about years in business (1902 - 1935). But in 1928, firm was reorganized as Geneva Cutlery Inc.
So, on the stamp Geneva Cutlery Co., the razor was made before 1928.

You should clean it up, send it our for a honing and try it before you part with it. Nice find.

    Default New Find . . .

    Hello, Razortrader:

I have one of those Geneva Cutlery razors. Lynn Abrams restored and honed it into a nice little shaver.

    Regards,
    Obie
