Default Antique shop razor, looking for info.

    Hi all,
Yesterday I got a razor (my first one) at a local antique shop. On one side the marquee reads:
    D. N. Walford
    Washington D.C.
    Made in Germany
And on the other side it says simply “Jubilee”

It is just a shade under 5/8 and looks to be a full hollow (though I'm new at this and not totally sure).
I didn't find anything on google. If anybody has any info I’d be thrilled. I'll try to post a picture later if that will help.
    Thanks,
    -B

Welcome to SRP. I'm not familiar with that particular razor and a photo would help. If you're intending to shave with it you ought to have it professionally honed. You can find members who perform that service here in the SRP classifieds. If you check out the SRP Wiki here you'll find a razor database where there may be an example of your razor. There is also a beginner's guide that you should read and SRP founder Lynn Abrams suggestions for your first straight razor shave.

DH Walford was probably a distributor or a barber supply in DC. Many USA hardwares, barber supply houses and cutlery firms had blades made in Solingen with their own logo. Chances are you'll never find out which company in Solingen made it but it looks like it would be worth cleaning up and having it honed.
