What a neat old razor, Sham! What kind of a point would you call that? Spike or Spanish? Since G. Johnson was in business from 1810-1855 in Sheffield, that hollow ground razor has to be a later model, and looks virtually unhoned. Definitely not hollow ground years later, as happened to so many nice old wedges to make them like the "new" fashion hollow grind. Thanks for posting, it looks great. Hope it shaves as well as it looks.

Looks in good condition. Did you get it like that or clean it up ?

I can't get mine quite sharp enough. Are these razors made of harder steel?
I seemed to be honing it for a lot longer than my first successful honing attempt which turned out nice and sharp but this one was still rough and did not quite get there.

It took me a while too. I think it's what Lyn says about honing through all the previouse bevels before getting to a good one. Spend some more time on the bevel setting. Mine soon became one of my favourite razors. Yours looks great from here.
